Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-04-17

1. Acceptance

By using TuneLab (tunelab.dev), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

2. The Service

TuneLab provides music tools for audio analysis and processing. Most tools run entirely on your device. Some tools offer optional cloud-assisted processing ("Cloud Assist").

Free tools are provided at no cost and require no account. Paid features (subscriptions and passes) provide Cloud Assist processing minutes.

3. Your Content

  • You retain all rights to audio files you upload or process
  • You are responsible for having the right to use and process any audio you upload
  • We do not claim any ownership or license over your audio files
  • Cloud-processed files are deleted automatically after processing completes

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service for any illegal purpose
  • Attempt to circumvent security measures or access restrictions
  • Overload the service with automated requests or scraping
  • Redistribute or resell TuneLab tools or their output as a competing service
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract proprietary algorithms or models

5. Service Quality and Limitations

5.1 Paid Features

We undertake that paid features will perform substantially as described in our documentation and will be provided with reasonable care and skill. If a paid feature does not meet this standard, your first remedy is repair (a fix or workaround). If we cannot repair the issue within a reasonable time, you are entitled to a price reduction or refund in accordance with the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

5.2 Free Tools

Free tools are provided without charge and, to the maximum extent permitted by law, without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or specific accuracy levels for free tools.

5.3 Accuracy

TuneLab's tools provide estimates and analysis based on algorithms. Results may not be perfectly accurate for all audio content. Specifically:

  • BPM detection is typically accurate within 1 BPM for music with a clear beat
  • Key detection may vary for tracks with ambiguous tonality
  • Vocal separation and other AI-powered tools produce approximations that vary by source material

6. Payments, Refunds, Cancellation, and Disputes

6.1 Payment Processing

Paid features (processing minutes, passes, subscriptions) are sold by TuneLab and processed by Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd. (Ireland) under Stripe's Managed Payments service. Stripe acts as the merchant of record in regions where it provides this service; Binary Equipment Ltd. acts as merchant of record elsewhere. Stripe collects and remits applicable VAT and sales tax on TuneLab's behalf in supported regions. All prices are displayed in USD; local VAT is added at checkout where required by law.

6.2 One-Time Passes (e.g., Studio Pass)

Studio Pass and similar one-time products grant a fixed allowance of processing minutes with no automatic renewal. Minutes expire per the terms displayed at purchase. Passes are non-transferable.

6.3 Subscriptions

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price until cancelled. You may cancel at any time from your account dashboard or by emailing . On cancellation, access continues through the end of the current billing period; no further charges are made.

6.4 Right of Withdrawal (EU and UK Consumers)

Under the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU) and the UK Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, consumers normally have 14 days to withdraw from an online purchase. By checking the consent box at checkout, you expressly agree to the immediate provision of our digital services and acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal once you begin using the service. We will only issue a full refund within the 14-day period if you have not consumed any minutes or initiated any processing jobs associated with that purchase.

6.5 Refunds and Cancellation

Subscriptions: Subscription fees are billed in advance and are non-refundable. You may cancel at any time; on cancellation, you retain access to your plan and any unused minutes until the end of your current billing period. We do not provide pro-rated refunds or credits for partially used billing periods or unused compute minutes.

One-time passes and credits: All purchases of one-time passes (e.g., Studio Pass) or additional compute credits are final and non-refundable. Unused credits remain available on your account per the expiration terms of the pass but cannot be exchanged for cash or a refund.

Accidental purchases: If you purchased by mistake and have not consumed any minutes or initiated any processing, contact within 14 days for a full refund. We respond within 2 business days and issue approved refunds via the original payment method within 10 business days.

Service failures: If a paid feature does not perform substantially as described and we are unable to repair the issue within a reasonable time, you are entitled to a price reduction or refund in accordance with the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

6.6 Disputes and Chargebacks

TuneLab offers a daily free tier (30 minutes) so you can evaluate the service before purchasing. If you experience a technical issue with a paid feature, please contact first — most issues are resolved within 48 hours. You retain the right to file a dispute directly with your card issuer or bank; however, filing a chargeback without first contacting us may result in immediate suspension of your account and forfeiture of remaining credits. Unresolved disputes are governed by §11 (Governing Law).

6.7 Taxes

Displayed prices are exclusive of applicable taxes unless stated. UK VAT, EU VAT, and any other local sales taxes are calculated and added at checkout by Stripe based on your billing location, and are remitted to the relevant tax authority by Stripe under its Managed Payments service. For B2B customers with a valid EU VAT ID, reverse-charge applies and the VAT ID is validated via VIES at checkout. Electronic invoices are issued by Binary Equipment Ltd. (or by Stripe on its behalf) in accordance with the laws of England and Wales and the destination jurisdiction.

7. Account Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. For paid accounts, we will provide 30 days' notice before any termination that is not caused by your breach of these terms, and issue a pro-rata refund for any unused paid period. You may delete your account at any time by emailing .

8. Limitation of Liability

8.1 Exclusions

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for: (a) death or personal injury caused by our negligence; (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; (c) breach of your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015; or (d) any liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, including liability under Section 46 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015 for damage to your device or digital content caused by our software where we have failed to use reasonable care and skill.

8.2 Cap on Liability

Subject to §8.1, our total aggregate liability for any claim arising from your use of the service shall not exceed the greater of: (a) $50 USD; or (b) the total fees you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

8.3 Indirect Losses

Subject to §8.1, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, loss of data, or loss of business opportunity, arising from your use of the service.

9. Intellectual Property

TuneLab's tools, algorithms, user interface, and design are proprietary. You may use the tools for their intended purpose but may not copy, modify, or redistribute them.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be posted on this page with 30 days' notice where practicable. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes shall be resolved by the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you will also benefit from any mandatory provisions of the law of the country in which you are resident. Nothing in these terms affects your rights as a consumer to rely on such mandatory local law.
