How does song identification work?
Audio fingerprinting extracts a unique acoustic signature from your audio and matches it against multiple music databases. The system tries several recognition services in sequence and returns the first confident match — typically within seconds.
What input methods are available?
Upload an audio file (MP3, WAV, FLAC, OGG, M4A — up to 99 MB, about 1 h 45 min of 128 kbps MP3) or record 10–30 seconds with your device microphone. To open a set that is already in our catalog, paste its YouTube link under Find a set.
Can it identify every track in a DJ mix?
Yes. For mixes and DJ sets, the system segments the audio and identifies each track with timestamps. Results include a full tracklist with BPM, key, and a Beatport link per track. Heavily layered transitions may reduce accuracy.
Where do the track links go?
Each identified track links to Beatport. When we can match the exact release, the link opens its track page; otherwise it opens a Beatport search for that artist and title.
How accurate is the identification?
Very accurate for commercial releases and well-known tracks. Unreleased tracks, edits, and mashups are harder to match since they may not exist in any fingerprint database. The system tries multiple services to maximize coverage.
Is my audio stored after identification?
No. Your audio file is deleted as soon as identification finishes, whether or not a track was found. Only the identification results (track names, metadata) are kept.
