Awakenings Festival 2025
Awakenings Festival 2025, and we're in the trenches, braced for the aural assault. The genre tag might say drum & bass, but with a BPM average nailed at 157.8, this is unadulterated, piston-firing hard techno from 999999999. The vibe is a warehouse swallowed by strobe light, a collective flinch with every snare crack.
Technically, it's a masterclass in relentless pressure, anchored in the driving, open-hi-hat territory of key 12A. The mixing is brutal and efficient, a conveyor belt of distorted kicks and searing acid lines designed for maximum physical impact. The highlight for tracklist detectives is the opener 'Piccolò - Acid Trouble', a statement of intent that doesn't let up, while 'AREA ØNE - Jack Jack' offers a brief, jacking respite.
The journey is a straight line: from the acidic chaos of 'Piccolò - Acid Trouble', through the relentless hammer of tracks like 'FLKN - The Jam', to the euphoric, trance-tinged finale of Scot Project's 'H2 (Steal Your Heart)'.
