Adam Beyer
Awakenings x Drumcode ADE 2024
ADE 2024, and Adam Beyer is back in his natural habitat: a dark warehouse, a strobe-lit crowd, and the relentless pulse of Drumcode techno. We're here for the workout, the catharsis, and the faint hope of hearing a track we Shazam'd six months ago. The air is charged, a collective sweat-lodge where the only light comes from the DJ booth and the glow of a thousand phone screens trying to capture the drop. At a consistent 136 BPM, Beyer operates in 12A for much of the set, with 5A and 7A providing variation.
The energy profile is more balanced here (47% low, 44% mid), suggesting a focus on rhythmic complexity and driving basslines over sheer force; the mixing is tight, with tracks layered to maintain intensity without monotony, and the high-energy peaks (9.2% avg) are strategically placed for maximum impact. Crate highlights include Tiioma's 'Dialekt' as a brutal, no-nonsense opener that immediately claims the space. Massano's 'The Lights' offers a moment of melodic reprieve without losing momentum, while DEADWALKMAN's 'Rhythm 11' is a raw, industrial-tinged weapon. The inclusion of Redman's 'Jersey (DJ Loki Remix)' is a wild, breakbeat-infused detour, and Wehbba's 'Euforia' brings a hypnotic, looping intensity.
From the aggressive start of 'Dialekt', through the bass-heavy assault of his own 'Overdose Of Bass' with Eli Brown, to the cinematic conclusion of Konstantin Sibold's 'The Arrival'. A hard techno set that builds, peaks, and lands with purpose.
