Anjunadeep Open Air: Los Angeles at #ABGT500 (Official 4K Set)
There's a particular breed of sunset that only makes sense with a deep, melodic house pulse, and we were all chasing it at the Anjunadeep Open Air in Los Angeles for #ABGT500. No one here is pretending to be cool; we're just grateful for the bassline therapy after a week of adulting. The open-air setup, with the city skyline fading into orange, felt like a collective exhale as lights twinkled in sync with the rising melodies. Averaging a steady 125.1 BPM and largely orbiting the warm, melancholic sphere of 3B, this James Grant & Jody Wisternoff deep house set is a masterclass in emotional progression.
The energy arc is a gentle climb, with low-end frequencies (avg 0.5147) providing a solid foundation for mid-range melodies (avg 0.447) to soar, while high-end elements (a mere 0.0381) are used sparingly for texture. Mixing is fluid and harmonic, allowing each track to breathe and evolve naturally, crafting a journey that's more about resonance than peak-time drops. Their own opener 'SpaceTime' with Braxton sets a cosmic, introspective tone, while Petrus Paty's 'DJ SAMPAI PAGI' injects a percussive, after-hours groove that feels like a secret handshake. 'Free', a collaboration with Because of Art, is a soaring, vocal-led moment of release, and Macromism's 'The Walk' offers a darker, driving bassline that showcases the set's depth.
The surprise drop of Boris Brejcha's 'Hashtag' and a Camelphat re-fix nod to a broader palette without breaking the spell. It begins in the stars with 'SpaceTime', builds to a communal peak with the epic 'Come Together' edit, and gently lands us with the soulful closing of 'Uthando'.
