'Sunday Detox' presented by Anjunadeep
The ‘Sunday Detox’ concept is a lifesaver for those of us who spent Saturday night in a loud, dark box and now require rehabilitation via gentle chords and horizontal nodding. This is the deep house equivalent of a warm bath. The vibe is all hazy sunlight and comfortable sofas, a digital sanctuary for weary souls.
The technical approach is one of deep, unhurried immersion, cruising at a relaxed 121.5 BPM and often residing in the open, airy keys of 12A and 5A. The energy is predominantly low-end warmth, with melodic mid-range elements rising and falling like tide pools, creating a seamless, liquid flow perfect for slow-motion movement. The curation is impeccable: Ben Böhmer’s ‘Begin Again’ is the only possible opener, a statement of intent in pianos and pads.
Miru’s ‘Radiance’ is a hidden gem of shimmering beauty, while the inclusion of Above & Beyond’s ‘Love Is Not Enough’ in A.M.R’s extended mix is a masterstroke of emotional, progressive house depth. YOTTO’s ‘Slowly’ is the set’s epic, patient centrepiece. The journey is a perfect arc from the hopeful inception of ‘Begin Again’, through the heartfelt peak of ‘Love Is Not Enough’, to the soft, organic conclusion of Gabriel Alba’s ‘Megna’.
