Worakls Orchestra
live at Château La Coste in France for Cercle
Nothing says 'Cercle' quite like a full orchestra arranged on a vineyard terrace, and Worakls delivers the requisite cinematic grandeur for this live set at Château La Coste. The vibe is undeniably epic, all sweeping cello shots and golden hour light, appealing directly to that part of us that wants to feel our emotions are scored by Hans Zimmer. This is orchestral electronica and melodic house at its most widescreen, with an average BPM of 126.0 that allows for dramatic, patient builds, often centered around the rich, emotive key of 8B.
Worakls uses the low-energy dominance to let string sections soar, crafting peaks through harmonic crescendos rather than brute force, skillfully shifting between 8A and 12A to maintain a narrative flow that’s both uplifting and vaguely tragic. The crate digging here is a celebration of the Worakls universe: the opening 'Sandra Renastr - Hold Me' sets a vocal-led, intimate stage, while 'Detached Motion' showcases his knack for hypnotic, driving motifs. 'Salzburg' is pure, alpine-tinged euphoria, and 'Cloches' offers a moment of delicate, bell-like percussion.
The unexpected, proggy twist of 'Hunzed vs Staves - Synesthesia (Staves Mix)' is a welcome detour. The musical journey starts with the yearning 'Hold Me', builds to a formidable peak with the orchestral powerhouse 'Porto'—which also serves as the 19-minute closing epic—with the melodic rush of 'Nikki' acting as a key emotional crescendo in between.
