Møme live
Tahiti for Cercle
Nothing says 'I have exquisite taste' like watching a DJ perform from a tropical beach, preferably while sipping something with a tiny umbrella. Møme’s live set for Cercle in Tahiti leans hard into the fantasy, all azure waters and golden sand as a backdrop for some seriously polished melodic house. The vibe is sunset chill meets sophisticated lounge, with palm trees swaying in time to the mid-tempo grooves. Technically, this is a laid-back affair averaging 114 BPM, often centered in the warm, open key of 4B.
The energy is consistently smooth, with a dominant low-end providing a cushioned bed for melodic elements to float over. Mids are filled with crisp percussion and atmospheric pads, while highs add just enough sparkle to keep things from becoming background music. The mixing is seamless, favoring long blends that let each track breathe in the island air. For crate diggers, the edit of MER’s 'Neon City Lights' is a shimmering highlight, perfect for that golden hour moment.
Betoko’s remix of Pete Grace’s 'Carried On' brings a deeper, tech-tinged groove, while Møme’s own 'Aloha' featuring Merryn Jeann is a breezy, vocal-driven anthem. 'Let’s Go' with Mr. J Medeiros injects a hip-hop inflection, and the collaboration 'Alive' with Midnight To Monaco offers a more driving, upbeat turn. The set opens with an unknown, ambient teaser, rides a wave of balmy grooves, and washes ashore with the extended, hypnotic close of Ochs & Klick’s 'Warp (Frank Kvitta Remix).'.
